What is Altinha?
Altinha is a Brazilian beach game played in a circle, where players keep the ball in the air using their feet, legs, chest, and head. In Brazil, you see it everywhere, from busy city beaches to small local spots. It’s part of the culture, bringing people together through rhythm, skill, and fun.
The rules of Altinha
Altinha is a social and dynamic beach game that’s all about rhythm, control, and playing together.
It’s usually played with four people in a circle. The goal is to keep the ball in the air as long as possible.
Each player is allowed to touch the ball only once. The challenge is to stay in flow and make sure the ball never touches the ground.
As you improve, you can make the game more intense. For example, by smashing the ball towards the player in front of you, who then has to defend and keep the rally alive. Enjoy!
